February 18-19
Baler, Aurora
People's Party 2012

Surf 1

We tried reserving seats at Joy Bus a week before the trip but failed to get one! An indicator that there are a lot of people going up Baler since February 19 is Aurora Day. James got us a van instead! :) Feb 17, Friday night we all met up at Starbucks Katipunan. Johanne and I were set that we'll leave our board at Perry's because the driver won't allow us to top load the boards. But Bay's brilliant idea worked! Our boards were placed inside. Sobrang nakakatawa lang itsura namin sa loob! Hindi nagkakakitaan eh! By 11:30 pm we were off to Baler. Weee! How exciting!
siksik lang kasya yan

When the sun was finally up, readied ourselves for the morning sesh. I brought Wendy with me. It's about time I seriously practice using my short board. It's really frustrating paddling and then the feeling that you'll almost get the wave, but boom paddling wasn't that strong, and the  big wave leaves you behind. Thank you Jess, I had one solid ride. After that long ride, I grabbed Denden and paddled out again! Hahaha. Nice long rides with Denden made me happier!

While waiting for check-in time we stayed at the lobby of Bahia de Baler to have our power nap!

The Highlight

It's Aurora Day and what a good way to celebrate it is a People's Party with bands and some booze! We couldn't miss Blue Island's set so we were at Baler Sentro past 8pm. Feel good music was all we needed! Their lead vocalist Aian wasn't there but the girl singer was the perfect replacement. Ang galing niya sobra! Then came the rain! That didn't stop us from parteying! The concert continued with General Luna onstage. The finale, Ebe Dancel!!! Woohoo! Sobrang saya lang nagpasaya lalo yung ulan! Walang keme keme sayaw, kanta, sigaw. Sarap. Sobrang thank you rin Soki! Dahil sayo nagkaron kami ng close encounter with Ebe. Dabest yung makasama siyang uminum ng beer! Words are really not enough to express my feelings! Basta masaya.

It's my second year to celebrate Aurora Day, and it's getting better! Hahaha can't wait what's in store for next year. This trip wouldn't be as happy without the best surf buddies!:) See you all again next month. Surf's up!

Sarps ap!
