Martinez Reunion

Jan 13, 2018 Ermin Garcia, Cubao It's the yearly Martinez reunion, this time hosted by Esdra and family. It was so nice to see our family grow, now with the fourth generation with us! Gosh I'm getting old. Of course delicious food served, fun games played and the awesome performances of the kids. Well the third gen has finally graduated from it. I remember I always played the piano before. Kaleb of course was the star of the night! So cute! Gift giving has changed since our family is growing. Before Lolo Esdra used to be our Santa Claus and distributed our gifts. He would call each one of us and as we receive our gifts we send out our kisses and thank our aunts and uncles. Now we just don't have enough time for it, so each family has a large ecobag labeled and we just have to sort the gifts to give ourselves. I love that we get to do this yearly, bond with our cousins, and connect. Hopefully we continue this tradition until more generations to come.

Enrollment

Jan 9, 2018 Today I scheduled to file a half day professional leave so I can enroll in UP. I got subjects for the semester: EDAD 210 and EDRE 201. Right after lunch my colleague and I left work and headed to UP. It was a fast enrollment. Luckily I got everything I needed from CRS. At preadvising my adviser asked why I didn't get Educ 293, when it was created especially for CS students. It was in conflict with my schedule so I really had no choice but to get EDRE instead. It then shook me that i've got heavy subjects this sem. Expected output in EDRE are chapters 1-3 which essentially should be used for thesis. Well that should be the mindset. In other words I have to have a topic in mind already! Which scared me again, cos I feel like I haven't learned much! I need to start reading through a lot of researches to give me an idea on what to work on. It only took me an hour to finish everything up until payment. Yay feeling really lucky or maybe blessed is the right word

First Day

Jan 8, 2018 Back to work! First day of work for the year 2018. Should feel excited, happy, and refreshed to be back but a part of me feels like I still want to be on vacation. As soon as I arrived I had to fix my plan prepare my presentation. Good thing I didn't have class the whole day so I practically spent the day preparing. Nothing really special happened today. For my last class I started with the new lesson already :)

ER

Jan 7, 2018 Momi wasn't feeling well when she woke up so I insisted that we go and see the doctor after the mass. We were set to go to the satellite clinic of Medical City at Robinsons Junction but surprisingly no doctor was available. So we went to Clinica Manila instead at SM Hypermart. She was given medicines to take to relieve her cough. Before going home, I bought sisig hooray and hakaw. Craving satisfied! Back home I kept on procrastinating the grades needed to be finished. I couldn't get myself to face those papers! Plus it's the last day of vacation should savour this rare moment. Around past 8pm momi asked me to take her to the hospital. She had heavy cough and unbearable headache. I asked her if she took the pain reliever and of course she said no cos she refuses to take medicines. I told her that if we go to the ER she will just be given medicines as well. Couldn't paint her face anymore so I hurriedly changed clothes and took the car out. We headed to

Joycegottricked

Jan 6, 2017 Sto. Nino de Molino Parish Bacoor Cavite Joycie's big day! She's one of the closest friends at work and I'm so happy to be witnessing her special day. It's my first time to drive going that area! Good think Marj offered to join me and help navigate for me! It was a smooth drive actually via Sky way then exit MCX. Google map really came in very useful! Imagine before navigating was difficult. I experienced before having to ask people along the way, tricycle drivers often, for directions. Finally reached Molino! We were set to fetch our colleagues in SM Molino. So Marj and I retouched while waiting for them. It took time before they were able to fine us. We had 30min left before the ceremony.  It says 3:30pm in the invitation. I don't like the feeling of driving under time pressure! Gosh and traffic along the way. After some confusion with turns we reached the church. Just in time! The doors opened, and Joyce was there standing beautifully with h

Practice

Image
I'm attending my colleagues wedding tomorrow so I decided to practice putting on my make up. To be honest I'm not really good with make up. I took time to watch some youtube videos for tutorials. Then I realised practically only have a few basic products. Gosh I don't have all those products like primer, concealer, shimmer etc. and brushes! And there's really a whole lot to know and learn. I bought recently a liquid foundation and a blush on cos I ran out of those already. I put the Vanitbasics double sided mirror with light into good use. Think it's the third time I'm using it! I got it as a Christmas present a year ago. After watching different videos it's my turn to apply what I've learned. Quite contented with the outcome.

Witty Bunny

This witty bunny is really witty!! Some of its predictions really are funny and some on point. Just for the heck of it and for fun I tried to see my future for the coming two years and it reveals also what you were two years ago.  And Witty Bunny says... 2018 ok salamat naman gaganda at yayaman ako! ahhaa. Pero naman 2019 pa talaga?

Baby skin

Today's to do was to go to the waxing salon. I used to go to a different one before but I've switched to Bare Naked now. Bare Naked calls there waxing service a sugaring, well because they use sugar to remove unwanted hair. When I finished my service for the first time in Bare Naked, East Wood, I promised I'll never go to any other salon to torture and hurt myself! Don't get me wrong it's also painful but not as painful in the other salon I've tried. I arrived Eastwood past 11 and went straight to the salon. Signed up for two of their services. Fortunately I was the first customer in line. Yaay cos only one staff was available who was pretty much all around. The others were still on vacation. And since she was alone, waiting time was really long and subtly turning down customers. It's my third time to do bz after almost two months. I don't know but today's session was longer than my second try and I had to as for more rests haha. But as they s

Labels

Image
I've been seeing a lot of DIY hack videos and really most of them I find useful. So I took time to try for myself if this hack from  DIY with Hometalk  Facebook page is easy and doable. My verdict at the end of this entry. Most of the time extra kitchen ingredients are transferred to small containers and to avoid mixing up an ingredient from another, one cute way to organize them is by putting labels. So here are the things you need: Cut out the label  Completely cover the label with tape and place it on a smooth surface Take a card and rub the printed label Submerge the label with tape in a container of water for 2 minutes Take off the paper by rubbing while submerged in water Let it dry until the adhesive part is sticky again Now it's ready to be placed on containers!  Ok so it's really easy to do! In less than 30 minutes you'll be surprised at the number of labels you've made. Quite surprised with the outcome! Looks like I made the calli

Making the year count

It's the second day of the month and I'm at home killing time doing nothing productive. I'm adding to my topic plan for school once in a while but apart from that I'm literally just home. I love that the semester's over in UP, I have a long vacation from work, and I could say I'm happy I have this time to recharge from all the stress and sleepless nights. At some point I thought, sleeping and doing nothing wouldn't matter, I have 363 more days left anyway! But then again, I shouldn't be wasting any precious time. So now I'm having this conscious effort to really make my time productive. Where do I start anyway? In no particular order the things below are what I envision myself to do.. 1. Start this small project on post cards 2. Save up for Japan trip and US visa 3. Review for IELTS 4. Have topics for my future thesis 5. Do a lot of reading on curriculum, entrepreneurship 6. Go back and do yoga 7. Surf more 8. Find THE ONE 9. Have a plan af
