Step into Liquid

Image
Here's another one of my favorite surf documentaries. Step Into Liquid. Literally stepping into liquid is what surfers do. It's the best feeling ever. I don't know the right words how to describe or even explain. You have to try it yourself. Written and directed by Dana Brown. He followed three Irish brothers as they not only introduced some local kids to surf but also invited Protestant boys and girls to join Catholic kids for the lessons. As can be expected, the surfing footage is heart-pounding stuff; you’ll be amazed just how close Brown will bring you to the action. Slow-motion camera work elongates some of the most spectacular rides, and you’ll feel every wipeout as though it had happened to you. Dana is the son of Bruce Brown, who is the man behind the classic surfing documentary, Endless Summer.

Year 2

May 14-16, 2011 Location: Baler, Aurora Surf 5: Balerinas Year 2 Balerinas started year 2009. There were only the four of us, Ayeen, Jean, Charmy and I. Then came Marie on 2010. Now on our Second Year we have new additions to our berkeda! haha. Welcome Anna, Kris, Ayi, Jali, and Princess. By 11am we were already in Baler. We had our room reservation at Bahia de Baler . Time for lunch. We ate at some karinderia near Mahdox surf shop. In the afternoon we went around Baler. ITINERARY: Balete Tree, El Pimentel Falls, Dam. I've never been to El Pimentel falls yet. When I got there, I wasn't that amazed. The Mother falls was much better. I wanted my friends to see the beauty of the Mother falls. But then the locals informed me that there's already an entrance fee plus a guide's fee. Tsk what happened? Market strategy? tskk. I'm glad though they enjoyed the three places we visited. Back to Sabang beach. SAD. Waves were small. Almost none. Managed to ride some though. Ever

Three

I can't believe it's been three years since Papa passed away. He died peacefully of tongue cancer, June 6, 2008. I was on his bedside in Medical City holding his hands minutes just before he died. It was a serene moment. I didn't even cry. He looked like he was just sleeping. I'm a papa's girl you know! I will never forget all the good memories we had together. I love you so much! I never failed to tell him how much I love him. And yess even until the time that he can't speak clearly anymore and pen and paper were our means of communication, he consistently showed momi and I how much he cares and loves us. Thank you papa for the wonderful years spent well with us! Oh and I'd also like to share how close to my heart the song "The Prayer" is. I made an AVP presentation for his wake and I used this song as background for the notes he wrote for us. I mentioned earlier that we kept a journal where he can write what he wanted to say because during his la

The Endless Summer

The Endless Summer is a surfing documentary by Bruce Brown . He follows two young surfers Michael Hynson and Robert August around the world in search for the perfect wave. Watch this for a PRE-STOKED feeling before heading to your home break! I've watched it already it amazed me how surfing evolved from classic surfing to the different tricks done today. Boards and most especially fashion have evolved! Hahaha. Notice the shorts worn by the two surfers in this film! And yess di pa talaga uso gumamit ng leash noon. Hardcore!
