Siquijor-Dumaguete-Guimaras-Dumaguete
Part 1 of 4
It was an hour flight to Dumaguete via Cebu Pacific. A local tour guide welcomed us and assisted us as we took the ferry to Siquijor. Another one hour travel time. It was a smooth one I must say. The Coco Grove crew was already at the port waiting for us. We had lunch at Larena Triad Coffee Shop, where you witness an over looking view of Siquijor. View palang nakakabusog na. Then we had our courtesy call with the Governor before heading to Coco Grove.
Finally checked in at Coco Grove. Wow! Reception area was impressive. Wait until we reached our rooms. Jaw-dropping. Ang ganda sobra!. The resort is 7 hectares big so you could just imagine the long walk from one area to another.
Team building games in the afternoon. Jeri and I were the facilitators. We had 4 games lined up. Animal Sound, Team Cheering, Samson and Delilah, Egg Drop. The group was divided into two teams, Beth and the Pussy Cat, Team Awzkals.
Dinner was great but service was not so. Ang tagal sobra. We consumed the beers at the "couple's" (Omar and Jyas) room before retiring for the night.
The next day, tour around Siquijor. We went to the Cambughay falls, the Tulapos Marine Sanctuary, and 400 year old Balete tree,
We had to traverse a hundred or so steps and there you witness the Cambughay Falls. Of course we swam in the fresh clean water and tried jumping off the falls. Yey, I conquered my fear.
We then went to the Tulapos Marine Sanctuary. I don't know what kind of marine life it has. We didn't get a chance to swim there.
Lastly, the 400 year old Balete tree. There's a creepy story about a cursed man living in this tree and the belief that the water source near the tree serves as his sewerage.
Our whole stay in Coco Grove was the most luxurious part of the trip. The area was very relaxing. Rooms were elegant. Food was great! Rates were pricey of course and the fact that most of their guests were foreigners.
I enjoyed my stay in Siquijor. The place was so serene, quiet, and virgin. Di totoo yang mga aswang, mangkukulam. Sabi-sabi lang yan para wala masyadong pumuntang tao.
