Wellbeing and mindfullness

This afternoon we had a talk on this: wellbeing and mindfulness from the perspective of a registered psychologist. I feel like the talk was meant for me, as if the speaker was talking to me. I took down notes and really gave everything she said a thought.


  1. Recognise and experience the emotion- change how we think
  2. Accept the emotion
  3. Express emotions constructively-be active or write
  4. Use compassionate voice

Never do these to yourself: asking the questions
  1. What if
  2. If only
  3. Why me

  1. Be present in the moment
  2. Cease to overthink
  3. Offline connections are important
  4. Do not compare
  5. Choose your influence 

How to be mindful
  1. Connect-talk and listen; be there; feel connected
  2. Be active-do what you can
  3. Take notice-reminisce the simple things that give you joy
  4. Keep learning-embrace new experience
  5. Give-time, words, presence
